Splaces

The most valuable destinations on the internet.

Splace is the word we use for PlanetBlue “Places” and “Spaces”.

 

• Places are usually tied to real locations in the world and are viewed with AR.

• Spaces are virtual scenes that may be viewed in 3D on your screen or in VR with goggles.

 

Any Splace may be viewed as a place in AR or you may toggle and view it as a space in VR. When we speak about VR, we also mean 3-D on a screen so you don’t need goggles to view any of this.

 

There’s a lot of flexibility and PlanetBlue for defining Splaces. You can defined both the AR and the VR views independently in a given Splace which means certain objects might change their behavior, change how they appear or disappear, their color, size and a score of other attributes. This all depends on how you set up the Splaces and the VR 3-D versus AR attributes you’ve assigned. 

 

You can also allow the user to toggle between the two views of space or place. This provides lots of flexibility in setting up your world. Of course, the Splaces work fine with the PlanetBlue defaults, but it’s good to know your creativity is not limited.
